Preserve the Montagnard Culture of Vietnam

Across the Sea Foundation, Inc. 501c3

Across the Sea Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit that helps to uplift indigenous villagers in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. French for “mountain people,” the Montagnards are a diverse group of tribal peoples who have lived in this region for generations. There are also small pockets of communities of Montagnards in the US and around the world. As indigenous peoples, they have a unique culture, including weaving, religion and language. Across the Sea Foundation aims to help preserve this culture. We provide funding to weavers and mothers to support their families. These donations help provide vital housing, life saving medical care, education and more.

Why the Montagnards?

  • They are part of our human community

  • They were allies of the U.S.A during the Vietnam War who provided American soldiers with tactical knowledge, shelter, food and other vital support

  • Their indigenous culture is vulnerable amidst the fast-changing economy

  • Many villagers struggle to meet basic needs such as food, housing, medical care, and education

  • Many families lives there today on less than $1 USD per day
